Quick Start

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure to:

Get a Kouri API Key - Register and obtain one at api.kourichat.com
Add Contact - Add the KouriChat email address to your contacts

Be sure to add hi@kouri.chat and other KouriChat iMessages email addresses to your contacts, otherwise messages may be marked as spam.

Set iMessage Sending Address

We recommend setting your iMessage sending address to an email instead of phone number. This allows:

Protecting your privacy
Continuing to interact even when SIM card is removed
Avoiding message delivery issues when phone signal is poor

Path: Settings → Messages → Send & Receive → Select email address

Start Chatting

Open the Messages app
Create a new message
Enter hi@kouri.chat as recipient
Send an iMessage

Backup address: y6i1yq9v@icloud.com

No matter which address you use to interact with KouriChat iMessages, your data is shared across all.

Before completing setup, you can chat with the default character Nijikori for a limited number of times. After reaching the limit, the system will prompt you to use the /web command to enter the web console for configuration.

Set World Book (optional)
Toggle personalization settings - Click the ? icon or see documentation below for details
